SNA Architects transformed an old salt mill in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands to serve the local business community and university. Preserving as many original features as possible, the old warehouse and silo were converted into contemporary office space and teaching facilities, set over five floors at a total of 7,200m2.
Junckers solid Oak Herringbone has been installed throughout the walkways and open spaces, providing a flooring surface that is both beautiful and durable. The striking geometric pattern of the popular herringbone pattern really comes into its own on such a large scale and lends an elegant look to the interior.
Junckers has recently completed EPDs for all its wooden floors, helping architects, designers and contractors to specify a proven sustainable product. In addition, all Junckers floors are sustainably sourced and hold PEFC and FSC® certification.
The wooden floor was sealed with Junckers Rustic Oil on site to give it a matt finish.
